I first got the travel bug at 11 years old when my grandmother took me to Europe. We flew TWA—Travel With Angels, we said—and toured 10 countries in two unforgettable weeks. I took black and white photos with my Brownie camera and never looked back.

Since then, travel has been my life’s connection. Business trips took me often to London and California. For pleasure? I’ve been privileged to explore 29 countries, 38 U.S. states, 20 U.S. National Parks, and 2 National Parks in Canada.

If cruising calls your name, I’ve been there too—Alaska, the Western Caribbean, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and through Europe along the Rhine and Moselle Rivers.

Spain was my last pre-COVID adventure, and it left an indelible mark on me. We began in Madrid, arriving early to enjoy three full days immersed in the energy of the city. From marveling at the works of Goya and Velázquez in the Prado Museum to strolling past the Cibeles Fountain and down Calle Alcalá, we felt the capital’s pulse in full rhythm.From there, our journey unfolded across Seville, Granada, Valencia, and Barcelona—each destination revealing a new chapter in Spain’s cultural epic. In Córdoba, we were awestruck by the Mezquita-Catedral, where over 800 granite and marble pillars hold up a dazzling mix of Islamic and Christian architecture. In Seville, the Casa de Pilatos offered Roman sculptures and intricate tiles that told tales of Andalusia’s diverse past. And in Granada, the Alhambra—a pinnacle of Moorish design—stood as a breathtaking reminder of Spain’s layered legacy.Of all the highlights, one moment stood out: stepping inside the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece was more than just a building—it was a living dream in stone and color. Set to be completed on the centennial of Gaudí’s death in 2026, it’s a metaphor for how Spain, too, continues to evolve.Now, as a dedicated Spain travel advisor, I use these personal experiences to design one-of-a-kind itineraries for my clients.
